Country and actor pages carry a Background section of general reference facts: history, leaders, geography, climate, culture, government. Those are retrieved from a reference work rather than written from memory, and each page names its sources at the bottom, under ''How this page is made''.

There are two kinds of image here and they are on different footings.

'''Reference images''' — flags, maps, leader portraits, ship photographs — come from Wikimedia Commons under a free licence. Each carries its creator and its licence in the caption, and one without that provenance is not published.

'''News photographs''' on the front page are the publisher's own, taken from our archived copy of the story. They are not freely licensed and this wiki claims no licence in them. They are shown small, credited to the publisher, and each one links back to the story it belongs to — the same footing as the headlines above: quoted for reference and study, never relicensed. If you are the rights holder and would rather a photograph were not shown, the removal process below applies to it exactly as it does to a page.
